Salty Sweet Chocolate Bars (No Bake!)
These salty sweet chocolate bars come just in time for New Years! This year, we had the privilege of hosting not one, but TWO Christmas parties, so we are taking it easy for New Years. I still wanted to make a quick and easy treat for everyone, and had a few leftover ingredients from all the holiday treats that were made for Christmas . This recipe includes tiny marshmallows, pretzels, and chocolate chips. This recipe is basically an extension to the classic chocolate dipped pretzels, but in bar form, and with peanut butter too! Does it get any better? You bet it does! It literally takes 5 minutes to whip this dessert bar up and requires no-baking so it’s easy to get the kids involved too.
To get started you need a jar of peanut butter and a bag of chocolate chips. It’s as simple as mixing them together in the microwave until smooth and ready to pour over the rest.
While you wait for the chocolate to cool off a few minutes, start crushing up a few handfuls of pretzels and mix them together with tiny marshmallows.
Next, add the chocolate mix to the marshmallow mix and stir until evenly coated. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan and cool for about two hours allowing time for the bars to harden before cutting into pieces.
Last, but not least, enjoy! This no-bake recipe is perfect for the holidays. Next year, I might add a handful of crushed candy canes for Christmas. I’ve even seen this version with cereal instead of pretzels. Lots of flavors to choose from!
